10/11/2023 0 Comments Nightmare in the dark chdWe are the ‘club that no-one ever wants to join’ the side of CHD that many heart parents would prefer to forget exists. But I also knew that it meant that Jessica’s story was no longer wanted. After I’d submitted it, I received a reply which said, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise that Jessica had died.” On one level, a simple message of condolence. Some time ago, I was asked to share Jessica’s story again. Our story was no longer a story that brought hope to others. After Jessica died, I stopped writing much about CHD. I wanted to be able to help other families and to give them hope. Sharing our experiences in Facebook groups to help other families going through similar experiences. Sharing our story to try and bring hope to other families or to raise awareness of research that might help other heart children. I used to post quite regularly during heart month to try and raise awareness of CHD.
